With this award, the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences recognize the important role of journalists in the digital age with algorithms, fake news and bots. Media professionals elaborate complex topics, bundle facts, question and report their findings for a broad audience. In the context of complex contemporary issues such as the Corona pandemic and climate change, media professionals with a sound scientific background play an increasingly important role for society.
The award ceremony will take place during the annual meeting of swiss science communicators, ScienceComm, on Thursday, 16 September, 2021 in Fribourg.
